BORDERS Politicians Craig Hoy MSP and John Lamont MP have united to Show Racism the Red Card in Football and other sports.
The Scottish Conservative duo have urged Borders residents to challenge racism and support educational initiatives to encourage young people to tackle racism.
Commenting on the campaign, Mr Hoy said: “I am pleased to support the Show Racism the Red Card campaign to encourage people to challenge racism and discrimination both in and outside of sport.
“Racism is never acceptable, and it is crucial that we set the right example for children and young people to follow by calling out racism whenever we see it.”
John Lamont MP said: “During the World Cup, when we see nations from across the globe come together for sport, we must recommit to stamping out racism in sport.
“In football, and in all walks of life, racism still exists. We must all do what we can to call it out.”
