A Midlothian Primary School pupil has won Craig Hoy MSP’s annual Christmas Card competition, with two pupils from St Mary’s RC Primary School in Haddington winning runner-up prizes alongside a pupil from Gorebridge Primary School.
The contest invited schools from across the South Scotland region to draw a design to be featured on Mr Hoy’s Christmas card, which has been sent to over two thousand households across the region. The contest invited primary school pupils from Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Lanarkshire, the Scottish Borders, Midlothian and East Lothian to draw a design for Mr Hoy’s annual Christmas card.
Rachael Davidson, a Primary 4 pupil from St Andrew’s RC Primary School in Gorebridge, won the contest and the top prize: a £100 Amazon gift voucher.
Delphi Morrison, a Primary 6 pupil from Newtongrange Primary School, was a runner-up and won a £50 Amazon voucher.
Kyle Conning and Oskar Stefaniak, Primary 7 Pupils from Mary’s RC Primary School in Haddington, each won runner-up prizes as part of the contest, and they each received a £50 Amazon gift voucher.
Mr Hoy presented the prizes in person, as well as certificates for all of those who participated in the contest.
He said: “I was really nice to present Rachael, Delphi, Kyle and Oskar with their well-earned prizes as part of my annual Christmas card contest, and to extend a big thanks to all pupils in the South Scotland region who took part this year.
“My Christmas card contest this year featured many talented designs from pupils across South Scotland.
“I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated as well as local teacher’s for the work they have been doing to support our children and young people following on from the many challenges for schooling during the height of the covid pandemic.”
The competition was generously supported Scottish Power, which provided the prizes, and EDF which sponsored the card production.
