CRAIG Hoy, a Conservative MSP for South Scotland, has announced that Angus Philips, aged 7, is the winner of his annual Christmas Card competition.
Violet Wright, aged 7, and Ava Bell, aged 9, were runners-up in the competition. The winner and runners-up received a selection box of chocolates as well as painting and art supplies.
The competition was held through East Lothian-community based arts group Art Point Scotland.
Mr Hoy’s Christmas card is sponsored by GoFibre, a full fibre broadband provider for homes and businesses based in Scotland and the north of England.
The MSP said: “I was thrilled to present prizes to Angus, Violet and Ava. The competition highlighted some wonderful art skills from children from across the county, which I have put out on display on the windows of my office at 1 High Street, Haddington, ahead of Christmas.
“The competition could not be made possible without the generous support of GoFibre.”
Laura Weir from GoFibre said: “It’s important we support local initiatives in the areas where GoFibre provides broadband to our valued customers, so we’re proud to be part of this excellent initiative, and the winning artwork from Angus, Violet and Ava is already hanging on the wall with pride of place in our head office. Well done to everyone who took part.”
