THE Linton Hotel and Steakhouse has been named Scotland’s best Hotel Restaurant of 2021 at a national award ceremony last week.
The hotel restaurant on East Linton’s Station Road scooped up the award for best Hotel Restaurant in the country at a black-tie event for the Food Awards Scotland in Glasgow.
Owner Patrick Cairney said he was “blown away” by the win.
He said: “This is a huge pat on the back for all of the staff at the Linton, especially after Covid.
“It is surreal to win an award not just for East Lothian, but the whole of Scotland.
“We are all really blown away by this.
“Huge thanks also goes to our fantastic customers who have made this possible.”
South Scotland Conservative MSP Craig Hoy visited the team at the Linton to offer his congratulations.
Mr Hoy put forward a motion for the Scottish Parliament to recognise the East Linton Hotel and Restaurant for the win.
Submitting the motion, Craig said: “It was fantastic to join Patrick and the team at the Linton Hotel and Steakhouse to congratulate them on becoming overall winner of the Hotel Restaurant of the Year at the Food Awards Scotland 2021.
“It is a great achievement for a dedicated local team!
“I look forward to seeing their achievement being recognised by fellow MSPs in the Parliament soon.”
