CRAIG Hoy, a Conservative MSP for South Scotland, has submitted a parliamentary motion to Members of the Scottish Parliament to thank Lothian taxi drivers for supporting the 2023 Edinburgh Taxi Outing.
The South Scotland MSP was outside parliament alongside Alison Johnstone, the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, to watch the procession of taxis driving past the Scottish Parliament building from Edinburgh to East Lothian.
The event involved children with special needs, life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses being treated to a day-trip to East Lothian, with a stop for ice cream at S Luca ice cream in Musselburgh before visiting Archerfield Walled Garden near Dirleton. Members of public were encouraged to watch the procession of decorated taxis armed with water guns, water bombs and buckes of water to soak the cars.
Craig Hoy MSP said: “I was honoured to submit a parliamentary motion to mark the 74th Edinburgh Taxi Outing. The outing offers children from Lothian a fun day out in East Lothian – made all the more special by taxi drivers and members of the public who helped to organise the event and make it a memorable day for children and their families.”
