LOCAL Borders politicians Craig Hoy MSP, a Conservative MSP for South Scotland, and David Mundell MP, the Conservative MP for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale, have recently attended the Peebles Show.
The pair met with residents and farmers from across Tweeddale to discuss issues affecting the community. They also hosted a pop-up advice surgery and met with representatives from the Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA) Armed Forces charity and volunteers from Daryl Botanic Garden.
Craig Hoy MSP said: “It was delightful to attend the Peebles show and hear from local people about their thoughts and concerns, as well as supporting the SSAFA and meeting volunteers from Daryl Botanic Garden. I am always keen to engage and happy to help with any issues people may be facing, and would encourage anyone in need of support to get in touch with me by email at [email protected] or by telephone at 01620 849350”
David Mundell MP said: “The Peebles Show is always a highlight of the local calendar of events and this year was no exception. As well as speak with members of the local agricultural industry, it was a great opportunity to meet up with a wide range of local people and groups. My congratulations go to the Peeblesshire Agricultural Society and everyone else involved in the organisation of such a successful Show.”
